Modi's Government has done in a few days what other State Governments could not do; Gujarat has bagged the Tata Nano project. It has allotted 1100 acres of land and reportedly the deal is over, Tata have reportedly taken possession too.
For a change Modi's Gujarat is in the news for some very good reasons - for effectiveness and efficiency. It has displayed both, purpose and speed.
Gujarat boldly promised 'Industrial Peace' when Mumbai and Maharashtra were burning. Industrial unrest had taken the toll. That was in the eighties. Many factories from Maharashtra particularly from Thane Belapur industrial belt moved to Gujarat. The officers of Gujarat Government took pride in telling stories of how they stopped Dr Datta Samant at Vapi.
The Gujarat Government has always shown both skill and will in promoting industry, it is a rich tradition that Mr Modi has followed with telling effect. He has made setting up industry, big projects among them, look so easy and simple.
Vilasrao Deshmukh, are you watching? [We are watching you!]. What say you Vilasrao?
